نعم، ارتجاع الصمام الأورطي قد يكون خطيراً، إذا تُرك دون متابعة وعلاج، إذ يُعرض المريض إلى خطر فشل القلب، واتساع الصمام، وضعف عضلة القلب الشديد، وتستلزم هذه الحالة التدخل الطبي العاجل وتغيير صمام الأورطي بصمام صناعي لإنقاذ حياة المريض.
